Dakota Johnson Talks ‘Fifty Shades Darker’: ‘It’s Quite Exciting’
The actress, who is currently attending the Venice Film Festival to promote two of her films, Black Mass and A Bigger Splash, sat down with Empire to discuss her role in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel. She admits that while she thinks it’s “quite exciting” to have a new director, it’s also scary.
There was a moment of being afraid, because I didn’t know what it was going to be like. I had an experience with Sam [Taylor-Johnson] and then that all went away. Now I’m excited. I think James [Foley] is a talented filmmaker. How often do you get to reconvene with the same people and have a different spin?
When asked about how his style will differ from the original direction, Johnson said, “You’ll just have to see when the movie comes out.” It was recently announced that Foley would direct the sequel after after Taylor-Johnson refused to return after having a bad experience on set with author E.L. James.
At the 2015 Venice Film Festival held at Sala Grande on Sunday (Sept. 6, 2015) in Venice, Italy, Johnson wore a black off the shoulder gown by Marc Jacobs.
