And So Ends the Most Boring Song of the Summer Showdown Ever
Billboard has named the official 2015 Song of the Summer.
And that song is OMI’s “Cheerleader.” Press play and relive all of your best summer memories:
“Cheerleader,” which is actually a remix of a song that is more than a year old, logged six nonconsecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 over the summer. (Billboard names a Song of the Summer based on chart performance between Memorial Day and Labor day.)
Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth place second in the SOTS race; their “See You Again” actually logged more than six weeks atop the chart — 12 in total — but many of those weeks occurred before Memorial Day and therefore do not help its ranking.
Here are the 2015 Song of the Summer runners-up:
2) Wiz Khalifa (Feat. Charlie Puth) “See You Again”
4) The Weekend – “Can’t Feel My Face”
5) Silentó- “Watch Me”
All things considered, it was not a thrilling race, and the result suits that. Still, at least it’s no “Fancy“…
