WATCH: Caitlyn Jenner Tells Matt Lauer, ‘I’ve Lived the Ultimate Male’

Matt Lauer teed off with Caitlyn Jenner who remains unbothered about the obstacles vying to interrupt her game.

In the first part of an exclusive two-part interview, Jenner spoke with The Today Show host about her experience living life as a woman thus far, the negativity surrounding recent accolades, and her future, all-inclusive of manslaughter charges and a Halloween costume depicting her historical Vanity Fair cover.

Jenner assuages a nervous Lauer who was afraid of “saying the wrong thing” that she is more tolerant than LGBT organizations who immediately raise an eyebrow at the slip of an incorrect gender pronoun.

“I understand it. It’s difficult for people to understand this, and that’s okay.”

Her light, sporty air grew heavy with emotion when asked if there is anything that she misses about living life as a man, revealing that she has zero regrets. “I’ve lived the ultimate male. Hardly nobody gets to live two genders in their life,” she told Lauer. “There’s nothing better in life than to wake up and look at yourself in the mirror and be comfortable with yourself and who you are.”

Though Jenner has received criticism for standing on the elevated periphery of the transgender community as a person of wealth and privilege, she remains deeply troubled about the tragedy occurring for individuals who lack such support. She tells Lauer, “It’s devastating to me to see people dying over this issue.”

Jenner treads lightly in the commentary on her legal involvement in the trial surrounding a four-car pileup that occurred in February as she is currently in litigation. In the face of potential manslaughter charges and a year sentence in men’s county jail, the Olympian tells Today, “A tragedy like this, you’ll never get over it. You just learn to live with it the best you can.”

She is learning how to cope with being the subject of ridicule even after the rumor mill was stopped when her female identity was exposed. Jenner laughs with the jesters, calling a questionably offensive Caitlyn Jenner Halloween costume “great”. “I don’t think it’s offensive at all,” she explains. “I know the community does and they’ve gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it’s great.”

“Life’s too short. I can’t get too upset about that kind of stuff.”
