John Stamos Feels Better Than He Has in a Decade Post-Rehab
John Stamos feels better than ever.
He’s gearing up for his new television show, Grandfathered, as well as a Full House reboot coming to Netflix. And he tells Details he feels really great since going to rehab. In fact, he feels better than he has in a long time.
“You know, I’ve had a rough year with my mom dying, so it all came to a head, and it was a turning point. You either continue on that path—and some of it’s fun, but a lot of it’s not—or there’s this other thing, this golden opportunity sitting there with all this work and all this goodwill that you have going for you. That’s the key. I feel better than I’ve felt in a decade.”
In June, Stamos hit a rough patch. He was arrested for driving under the influence, and taken to the hospital. A few weeks after, he checked himself into rehab for substance abuse where he completed a 30-day stay.
He talked to the magazine about his struggle with maturity:
“I’m trying. I swear to God I’m trying. It’s not as much fun, but you have to be responsible. It’s about discipline, which I lost for a while. Part of being undisciplined for the past five or six years is that I didn’t work as much as it looked like. I had some high-profile jobs, like a Super Bowl commercial or a few episodes of Glee, but there was a lot of downtime, and that can be, obviously, dangerous.”
And, yeah. Uncle Jesse even let a few details about Fuller House slip. As to whether or not we can expect to see the Olsen Twins return to the show, the actor said:
“Everybody knew about it; everybody was asked. I made sure it became a favored- nations thing, so we all make the same amount. Obviously, the twins have a different thing. We’re doing 13 episodes, so if they want to change their minds, we’d love to have them . . . but we only need one!”
