Uzo Aduba Will Sing at ‘OITNB’ Co-Star Lea DeLaria’s Wedding

Because an incarcerated bond is an eternal bond.

Orange is the New Black actress Lea DeLaria (aka ‘Big Boo’) revealed to E! News that her crazy-eyed co-star Uzo Aduba will be singing at her wedding to Chelsea Fairless.

“Uzo and I have known each other for years,” she told E!. “Chelsea and I had a conversation about who we really want to sing at our wedding and we both went, ‘Uzo.’ I asked and she said of course, she’d be honored.”

Y’all this is my good friend @uzoaduba she made Emmy history tonight. I love her with all my heart. #fuckyeahemmys

Aduba will be performing “I’m Calling You” from the 1987 film Baghdad Café to a wedding hall filled with family and friends. “It’s going to be ridiculous,” DeLaria said. “Have you seen my cast? Just the cast alone makes it 200.”

DeLaria met Fairless working on Orange is the New Black through a mutual friend who plays Leanne on the show.  “Everyone saw how emotional I was at the SAG awards,” she told E! in February. “I was so filled with love. I turned to her at the Netflix party that night and asked her to marry me. We announced it to all of our friends there.”

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, a long-time friend of DeLaria, will be her best man.

Aduba previously performed a duet with Taylor Swift during her 1989 tour. She will sing again publicly when she appears in NBC’s live production of The Wiz as Glinda the Good Witch on Dec. 3.
