Will David Beckham Be the Next James Bond?

David's New Ink
This will make you melt.

Think of all the shirtless scenes you’d be blessed with…

David Beckham is the latest celebrity to join the Who Will Be the Next James Bond? club, as Daniel Craig inches closer and closer to Bond retirement. But before you prepare your beating hearts for potential scenes where Becks croons for a martini or drives around in fancy cars or takes off his shirt, here’s the deal: it’s just a little rumor.

This week, the 40-year-old soccer god sat down with Good Morning Britain and basically broke our hearts. But in doing so, he came out as a humble creature:

“I’ve definitely not been contacted. I’m definitely not obviously up for doing something like that… but it’s nice to be linked I suppose.”

Until the search for the next James Bond is over, you can whet your Beckham on the big screen appetite by watching his cameo in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. He’ll also make an appearance next year in BFF Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur pic, Knights of the Roundtable, starring Jude Law and Eric Bana.

For even more of Beckham’s acting chops, try his latest commercial for H&M. Kevin Hart is also in the campaign.

Spectre opens Nov. 6.
