LISTEN: Lorde and Disclosure Join Forces for New Song ‘Magnets’

Lorde in Wax
Now you too, can take selfies with (a fake) Lorde.

The one they call Lorde is back.

Any day involving new Lorde music is a good day. And while it’s not a real deal single from a new Lorde album, the song is still a treat for your ears.

“Magnets,” which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beast 1 Radio program, is the 18-year-old’s new collaboration with UK electronic duo Disclosure. The track is just one of about a dozen star-studded works on Disclosure’s second studio album Caracal. The Weeknd, Sam Smith, Miguel and jazz vocalist Gregory Porter also guest.

On the song’s message and mantra of “the point of no return,” Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly earlier this month that Lorde helped point the track in the right direction.

Ella came up with the idea of using it in the sense of it you’re attracted to someone you shouldn’t be for moral reasons, and then you tell them, then you’ve gone past the point of no return.”

Caracal drops Friday (Sept. 25).
