Damian Lewis Is the ‘Number One Choice’ to Play James Bond

Check Out the New ‘Spectre’ Trailer
James Bond has a deep dark secret and it’s here to haunt him in the form of Christoph Waltz...

Could Damian Lewis be taking over the iconic role of James Bond? There’s certainly talk.

With all the actors in contention, it can be hard to keep track of who could become the next James Bond. (So far, everyone from Tom Hardy to Idris Elba have been rumored to be stepping in.) But now, there’s serious talk that the Homeland star has become the frontrunner. And one insider seems pretty positive about it.

The ‘well-placed source’ told The Sunday Mirror, “If Daniel Craig leaves, it’s Damian Lewis who will be crowned the new Bond.”

They even go as far as to say the actor has received an ‘unofficial nod’ that he is the number one choice to don the suit and tie as the tall, dark and handsome man of mystery.

But it all depends on the circumstances. The source says Damian will only be offered the role if Daniel Craig decides to step down following the highly anticipated November release of the latest 007 film, Spectre.

The Golden Globe and Emmy-winner has certainly got the acting chops (and the looks!) to play the part.

“He is seen as an all-round international star who is perfect for the role. As he ages, he looks increasingly suave and sophisticated,” the insider said. And, ahem, we agree.
