There Will Be a Final ‘Fast & Furious’ Trilogy, According to Vin Diesel
The never-ending franchise continues, and we’re okay with that.
Vin Diesel announced some very special news on his official Facebook page. The star and producer of the Fast & Furious films said fans still have a final trilogy of movies to look forward to before the saga comes to an end.
“[Y]ou have been with me every step of the way… literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you,” he began his heart-felt message on social media.
He went on to say there’s a reason a director has not yet been chosen for the upcoming Furious 8. He wants everything to feel right for the movie, which is set to be released in April 2017.
“My producing partner Neal [Moritz] would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet… let alone seen a script.”
Vin says he’ll be announcing ‘directors’ for the final three films in his next post on Facebook.
It’s no wonder he wants to make three more movies. Furious 7 raked in $1.5 billion world wide, making it a box office smash.
Here’s to three more.
