WATCH: Trevor Noah Is Thankful for An Indoor Toilet and ‘The Daily Show’ Job

Trevor Noah's First Guests
For his first Daily Show week.

“The Mets made the playoffs. I don’t know what that is but Jon told me it would work.”

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah is a real thing now. On Monday (Sept. 28), the 31-year-old suited up for his first-ever episode as the show’s brand spankin’ new host. And he delivered. Right away.

“I’m not gonna lie,” he said in his opening before continuing Jon Stewart’s wonderful War on Bulls**t. “Growing up in the dusty streets of South Africa, I never dreamed that I would one day have, well, two things really… an indoor toilet and job as host of The Daily Show. And now I have both. And I’m quite comfortable with one of them.”

Noah, who had Kevin Hart on the show as his first guest, covered everything from Pope Francis’ recent visit to the U.S. (Popemoji sexting, anyone?), John Boehner’s resignation, the Blood Moon and Fetty Wap’s accident.

Come for the new colors and fonts. Stay for the new face.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airs weeknights on 11 p.m. EST on Comedy Central. Watch his opening, above.
