Daniel Craig Discusses the Future of James Bond
One thing’s for sure: Craig has been a busy, busy guy. He’s been playing Bond since 2005 when he was contracted to fill the role as the secret agent in Casino Royale. Quantum of Solace followed in 2008, and then Skyfall in 2011. Now that Spectre has wrapped, Craig says, “This movie has taken up two years of my life, and I just need a break. I need to get back to normal life. I need to reintroduce myself to my family who are not best pleased with me,” he said, and we really can’t blame the guy. Craig has one daughter from his previous marriage, and is currently married to Rachel Weisz, whom he wed in 2010.
“The idea of planning ahead — I’m not trying to be coy. People want an answer and I don’t have one,” he says.
“I can’t give you an honest answer at this point…It’s not that I’m trying to play hard to get. I’ve just given it no thought whatsoever,” he said.
Craig’s current contract has him booked to play Bond in one more film, and after that, who knows? At this point, he seems noncommittal.
Spectre hits theaters on Nov. 6.
