Taylor Swift Donates $50,000 to Backup Dancer’s Sick Nephew
Taylor Swift has done it again.
Toshi Davidson, one of Taylor’s backup dancers on her 1989 World Tour, recently posted a GoFundMe page for his 13-month-old nephew Ayden who is battling cancer. And in an emotional Instagram post, he detailed the moment he realized Swift had donated $50,000 to the cause. He calls Taylor an ‘incredible human being,’ and says the unexpected gift is truly a blessing.
So I get off the plane in Toronto and this is the 1st thing I see… @taylorswift is an angel and My family and I can’t thank her enough… She is such an incredible human being… This will help Lil Toshi in this time of need… Let’s pray for him to beat this… This unexpected gift is truly a blessing… 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 #helpbabyAydenbeatcancer #fuckcancer #cancer #gofundme #taylorswift #greatestbossintheworld #amazinghuman #blessing #angel #nephew #lilToshi #live #life #love
Toshi’s mother Tosha also made sure to post her thanks on the fundraising site both to Taylor and to all the people whose donations and well-wishes have been flooding in. “Thank you to all of you who have contributed in any manner to help us with Ayden’s care. The last 24 hours has been amazing just watching all the love that came pouring in from all walks of life and from all countries around the world. You have helped us gain hope and faith and belief by showing us that there are so many of you out there that have sent prayers and funding which made us feel a little bit lighter. Therefore we have a little bit less tears to cry today,” she wrote.
This isn’t the first or even the second time Taylor has helped a family in need. In July, Taylor donated $50,000 to a girl battling Leukemia. Before that, the singer helped a volunteer firefighter who saved his family from a car wreck by giving $15,000 to their fundraising page.
Taylor defines what it means to truly give back.
