Ellen Pompeo Slams Daniel Craig Over His ‘James Bond’ Comments

Dr. Meredith Grey isn’t a fan of James Bond.

Daniel Craig recently admitted he’d rather harm himself than take on yet another James Bond role, and his comments are creating quite a backlash. It especially didn’t sit well with Ellen Pompeo.

In an interview for upcoming 007 film Spectre, the actor said he would rather “slash his wrists” than star in another Bond movie. He also said that he’s “over it” and that all he wants is to move on. In response to the article, Pompeo was quick to remark on his questionable comments, tweeting:

While it isn’t clear which of his comments rubbed the Grey’s Anatomy star the wrong way, we do know it could be one of two things. Either she thinks that it was unnecessary for Craig to make light of suicide or she just thinks he’s being super ungrateful about his role. After all, James Bond will probably be one of the biggest roles of his career.

Fans were quick to point out that maybe Craig’s quotes “were not exactly what he said,” and that some media outlets and websites twist what actors say to get a good headline. Pompeo couldn’t help but agree.

Spectre hits theaters Nov. 6, 2015.
