Gwyneth Paltrow Says Taylor Swift Is a Great Role Model for Her Daughter
While attending Variety‘s Power of Women luncheon on Friday (Oct. 9, 2015), the actress talked about approving her 11-year-old daughter Apple looking up to the “Wildest Dreams” singer as a role model.
She loves Taylor Swift, and for me, that’s such a great sign. Taylor is a girl who’s incredibly talented. She writes her own music. She’s not naked on the red carpet. She’s an incredibly astute businesswoman, so with role models like that, she can’t go wrong.
I really think that that generation is going to do something very special. Those girls, they are so in their power. They are absolutely shameless in terms of their femininity, and I think we’re on the verge of something really exciting.
To mark International Girls Day, the 43-year-old uploaded photos to Instagram, sharing a mother/daughter selfie and a beautiful tribute gushing about her eldest child.
Today, on #InternationalGirlsDay I encourage us all to nurture, support, love and empower all of the girls in our lives. Let us have the strength to let them emerge as who they are meant to be. Let’s selflessly pass down any wisdom we have been fortunate enough to accumulate thus far. And most of all let’s just get the heck out of their way, this next generation is going to change everything. Apple Martin, thank you for being my number one girl, the girl who inspires me to be my best every day of my life. #whoruntheworld A photo posted by Gwyneth Paltrow (@gwynethpaltrow) on
