WATCH: Kirsten Dunst Enjoyed Putting on Weight for ‘Fargo’ Season Two
Kirsten Dunst had no problem eating food, laying in bed and watching TV to gain weight for her role.
“It’s nice to promote something and not have to lie about it, like ‘it’s amazing!'” Kirsten said of Fargo. The actress appears on the show’s second season, which premiered on Oct. 12 on FX.
While talking with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Dunst also shared what it was like putting on weight for her character’s part on the show. “Is it a nightmare or is it a fun thing to gain weight for a role?” Kimmel asked.
“Well, listen, I was in Calgary and it was cold, and so I ordered in a lot of pizza, lot of Thai, grilled cheese, I just had different cheeses and breads together, and now I’m like, ‘Yeah, I gained weight for this role!’ but really, I just sat in my bed, watched Friday Night Lights, and, like… ate.” She joked.
As Kimmel pointed out, Dunst’s husband on the show, Jesse Plemons, was on the show Friday Night Lights. “And my boyfriend [Garrett Hedlund] was in the original movie, so I’m really a fan,” Kirsten said.
