Lamar Odom Supported by Khloé Kardashian and Family Banding Together in Las Vegas: Report
Family and friends stand strong beside Lamar Odom as more details of his accidental overdose unfold.
As of the morning of Thursday, Oct. 15, former NBA player Lamar Odom remains in a coma at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada after he was found in an unconscious state at the Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nevada. Odom had reportedly been partying at the brothel since Saturday, Oct. 10, ingesting a cocktail of substances including a herbal Viagra substitute called Reload. According to TMZ, he had spent $75K over the course of the weekend on two women, room, and board.
The basketball pro’s ex-wife Khloé Kardashian stayed overnight at the hospital to support her ex-husband after rushing to his side on Tuesday with Kris Jenner as the news broke. Due to a backlog in family law courts, Khloé and Odom are still technically married despite filing for divorce in December in 2013, making her next of kin. TMZ reports that the reality star let their divorce case sit for over a year and a half “in part because she wanted to save the marriage”.
E! reports that Odom is likely to have suffered an ischemic stroke, a type of stroke associated with cocaine overdose caused by a blood clot preventing blood flow to the brain. The 911 call released by TMZ yesterday reveals that Odom was found with “white stuff” (mucous) coming out of his mouth. The caller, Love Ranch South’s media director Richard Hunter, tells the dispatcher that Odom had not ingested cocaine since Saturday despite new reports that crack cocaine had been found in his system. Police officials tell TMZ that Odom may be charged for drug possession.
Kardashian’s ex-husband is also a father to daughter Destiny, Lamar Jr. and Jayden, who passed away in June of 2006 from SIDS.

Magic Johnson told Us Weekly at the Habitat of Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Builders Ball, “I’m devastated, because Lamar is a friend of mine. We had been compared when he was in college. He reached out once he got into the pros because our game was similar.”
“We became really good friends. To see his growth as a basketball player and as a man, [and then] to see this happening, it hurts us all.”
