The retired talk show host was at an event in New York to promote her new documentary series on OWN, Belief, when she chatted with TMZ to respond to T.I.’s remarks.
Earlier this week, T.I. made comments about Hillary Clinton running for president during a SiriusXM show, saying, “Not to be sexist, but I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman.”
Since then, the rapper has apologized for his “unequivocally insensitive” comments. As for Oprah, her take on the matter is to tell T.I. to take a seat. She told TMZ:
Well, you know what I say to that… I want to say, ‘Honey child, hush your mouth. You don’t know what you’re talking about.’ That’s what I would say.
As for O, she has bigger issues concerning her, like promoting her new series about world religions, Belief, which premieres Sunday October 18, at 8 p.m. ET on OWN.
