Tracy Morgan Had a ’30 Rock Reunion’, Plus 5 Other ‘SNL’ Highlights
More than a year after his near fatal crash, the comedian hosted Saturday Night Live, and totally killed it. He began his monologue by pretending to have a speech impediment before saying he was just joking. “I’m back!”
It feels so good to be here. You may have seen on the news I was in a terrible car accident a year ago. It was awful. But it also showed me how much love and support I have in this world.
People were wondering, ‘Can he speak? Does he have 100% mental capacity?’ But the truth is I never did. I might actually be a few points higher now.
Morgan explained that he reached out to series creator Lorne Michaels a couple months ago. “I said, ‘Lorne, when I get back on my feet, I want to come home,’ and here I am.”
His opening monologue also became a 30 Rock reunion with appearances from former costars Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Krakowski, who all reprised their characters. At the end, the cast ran out to hug Morgan, while the crowed cheered.
Here are five other highlights from Saturday’s night’s (Oct. 10, 2015) episode of SNL.
1. Morgan brought back Brian Fellow’s “Safari Planet”.
2. He also brought back another familiar character, Astronaut Jones.
4. Tina Fey made an appearance on SNL’s “Weekend Update” to talk about Playboy.
5. Demi Lovato gave an emotional performance of her new song “Stone Cold”.
