Ryan Sweeting Is Asking Kaley Cuoco for Spousal Support, Attorney Fees
Kaley Cuoco’s estranged husband wants her to fork over some major bucks.
In the legal documents filed by the tennis player on Oct. 15 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Sweeting, 28, states Sept. 25 — the day Cuoco, 29, filed for divorce — as the date of separation. Cuoco has her separation date listed as Sept. 3 and cites the cause of breakup as “irreconcilable differences.”
Sweeting’s own docs also ask for spousal support and request to terminate the court’s ability to award the support to his soon-to-be ex-wife. Meanwhile, Cuoco’s papers state that spousal support was payable and terminable as set forth from the prenuptial agreement they signed on Nov. 20, 2013.
Despite their prenup citing that each party will be responsible for their own lawyer’s fee, Sweeting, who married Cuoco on New Year’s Eve in 2013, is asking that his ex pay for his attorney as well.
Cuoco and Sweeting announced their split on Sept. 25 after 21 months of marriage. At the time, word had it that the two parted ways because Sweeting was allegedly addicted to painkillers and couldn’t kick the habit.
“She supported him but she said he couldn’t make the commitment to get sober,” an insider told Us Weekly. “He’d tell her he was working on it and instead go get wasted.”
After wiping all traces of Sweeting from her Instagram and taking off her wedding ring, Cuoco refuted rumors that she was getting back together with co-star and ex-boyfriend Johnny Galecki, saying, “So sorry to disappoint, but no home wreckers or secret flings going on here.”
