Selena Gomez Is No. 1 with ‘Revival’

SelGo's 'Revival' Journey
Garnering a new lease on life comes at a high cost.

Put it in the books.

Selena Gomez has another No. 1 album to her name thanks to Revival, which debuted on top of the Billboard 200 chart. SelGo’s second solo studio album, which dropped on Oct. 9, earned 117,000 equivalent album units in its first week; 85,000 of those were pure album sales, Nielsen Music reports. [via Billboard]

This is the second No. 1 album for Gomez, who reached the Billboard 200 chart’s top spot in 2013 with Stars Dance. Revival is the singer’s first release since switching from Hollywood Records to Interscope.

Gomez, 23, beat out The Game’s latest, The Documentary 2, for the coveted Billboard spot. The Weeknd, Fetty Wap, and Drake and Future’s new albums round out the top five.

Meanwhile, SelGo’s BFF Taylor Swift is still holding strong at No. 6 with 1989. If things continue like this for another couple of weeks, 1989 will mark its one-year anniversary of spending every single week on the Billboard 200 Top 10. Pretty nifty, eh?
