There have been so many false starts and erroneous reports about “R8” over the last three years — can you believe it has been three f***ing years since Unapologetic?! — and so we advise you to take this with a grain of salt, but Glass John, a producer who worked on “Kiss It Better,” a track expected to appear on ANTI, posted the following to Instagram last week:
The caption, which reads “#ANTI…. Nov. 6th is my real birthday<3” seems to indicate, without too much reaching, that the album is coming next Friday, Nov. 6. Hot damn.
We hope, as surely the entire Rihanna Navy hopes, that this is not yet another misleading statement made by someone who simply wants to appear “in the know.” Unfortunately, it sounds like we’ll have to wait until next week to find out for sure, but a week is not very long to wait at all.
An editorial aside: next week would be a wise time for Rihanna to drop her long-awaited album, because the following week both Justin Bieber and One Direction are releasing new albums. The week after that, of course, on Nov. 20, Adele‘s 25 hits, and that album is pretty much guaranteed to dominate for the rest of the year. So, really, RiRi, it’s now or never. Or: now or sometime in 2016. And we’ve waited long enough.
