Indie film darlings, Chloe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart, will reportedly be teaming up to take on the real-life story of notorious suspected murderess Lizzie Borden.

Borden was tried and subsequently acquitted for the murders of her stepmother and father in 1982.

The gruesome killings took place in the Borden family home in the town of Fall River, Massachusetts. While Lizzie never served time for the murders, no other suspects were ever tried for the crimes.

Star of American Horror Story, Sevigny will be portraying Lizzie while Stewart is being cast as Borden’s alleged lover, the family’s live-in maid, Bridget Sullivan who is thought to have witnessed the axe murders and testified during Lizzie’s trial.

Pieter Van Hees is slated to direct the film, which will focus on the mysterious events leading up the to the violent, as-of-yet officially unsolved crime.
