Lamar Odom Is Now Able to Walk ‘With Help’

Important health update.

Lamar Odom is “getting stronger every day.”

The basketball player is making progress in recovering. According to an Us Weekly source, “Lamar is getting better every day. He is more coherent and can talk more.”

“He is getting stronger every day,” the source added. “And has a great team of therapists and specialists working with him. He’s 6′ 11″ and weighs a lot, so getting him to walk a little has been really hard.”

Although Odom still has a long way to go towards making a full recovery, he is “walking with help now.”

As for his kidneys, the source says, “They are also trying to get his kidneys to function on their own.”

While his broader health conditions are still unknown, we do know he’s in need of a kidney transplant. A second source noted to Us Weekly that Odom was “definitely” in need of the procedure, and has been on dialysis after suffering from kidney failure over the weekend.

Doctors are still uncertain about the extent of his brain damage. Odom is said to have suffered 12 strokes before he was found unconscious from a drug overdose at a Nevada brothel. The official results from his blood test revealed he tested positive for cocaine.

The second source added, “He’s doing a tiny bit better, but he has a very long road back to full recovery — if that.”

Odom was discharged to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles over a week ago.
