Justin Bieber and One Direction Battle It Out, Release New Songs on the Same Day

Who’s copying who now?

Justin Bieber and One Direction, whose albums drop exactly on the same day, are also trying to one-up one another by releasing new songs from the highly anticipated records on the same day, too.

On Monday, fans were treated to two new tracks from Bieber — a song co-written by Ed Sheeran, called “Love Yourself” and a duet with Halsey titled “The Feeling” — and one new 1D jam named “End of the Day.”

Previously, Bieber shaded the boys of One Direction when he found out that the British boy band was releasing their new album, Made in the A.M., on the same say he was debuting Purpose.

“They’re not really going on the road much, but we’re talking about them right now, so it gives them some promo, right?” Bieber said in a New Zealand radio interview [via MTV]. “So, that’s probably why they did it.”

“I think it was strategy on their part because my release date was first,” he continued. “But whatever. It’s whatever. It’s going to be fun. I’m excited to see what happens.”
