Daisy Ridley Covers ‘Elle’ Magazine’s December Issue Just in Time for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Daisy Ridley & Carrie Fisher Chat About 'Star Wars' Superstardom
Daisy Ridley is about to become a household name...

If you don’t know the name Daisy Ridley, you will very soon.

Because although little is known about the highly-anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we do know that Daisy stars as Rey in the upcoming film.

The 23-year-old covers Elle’s December issue and gave a few more details about the upcoming movie that will surely propel her to super stardom.

Did we mention it’s her first movie?

Daisy talked to the publication about the intense training process for her part in the film, saying she would devote five ours per day to it. “It became my solace… Because it’s the only thing structured in my life right now. Training is sort of a therapy session, I guess,” she said, adding that she lived off mainly fish, legumes, and spirulina shakes.

All that hard work is due, in part, because Ridley says she believes Rey is a character that fans, women and girls will be able to look up to.

“[Rey is] so strong. She’s cool and smart and she can look after herself. Young girls can look at her and know that they can wear trousers if they want to… That they don’t have to show off their bodies.”

We’re excited to see Daisy star as Rey in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which hits theaters on Dec. 18.
