Justin Bieber Says Dating Selena Gomez Taught Him ‘How to Treat Women’

Even though he’s somewhat slipped back into his douchey ways lately, Justin Bieber insists he’s a changed man.

The “Sorry” singer, who’s been on a quasi apology tour to promote his new album, tells Us Weekly that his relationship with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez really changed his outlook on life. Though they’re no longer together, Bieber, 21, says he’s learned a lot from being with the 23-year-old songstress.

“I think we didn’t really know what we were doing,” he explains of why they split after three years of on-and-off dating. “[We were] young and we kinda just invested too much of ourselves into each other.”

“I learned a lot from the relationship,” he continues. “About life, how to treat women, what women want and need. I think a woman needs security. I think a woman needs to feel that security and know that nothing else matters. I learned that with her.”

In fact, Bieber says they don’t have any bad blood between them — which is probably why Jelena fans are still holding out for a reconciliation.

“She’s my homey. We’re friends,” Bieber says. “We don’t talk every day. But every now and then, she hits my phone up.”

Wait. So like a “Hotline Bling” situation?

“I hit her phone up, too, I hit her phone up too! It’s not just her,” he jokingly adds. “It goes both ways, I was just fucking around.”
