+ New Details on 'Fifty Shades Darker'

With the tormented souls of Fifty Shades of Grey finally set to return in 2017, it’s also been announced that director James Foley would be taking over both sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed

Not only that, but they will be filming part two and part three back to back, with pre-production currently under way and production set to start in early 2016.

Variety reports that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are back as lovers Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, with author E.L. James once again returning as a producer alongside Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti. Niall Leonard will be writing the screenplays for both sequels, adapted from James’ books.

As we were sad to report back in March, the first Fifty Shades director Sam Taylor-Johnson will not be returning to direct the sequels (for reasons beyond us).

Foley has previously directed episodes of House of Cards

Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled for release on Feb. 10, 2017, with Fifty Shades Freed set to hit theaters Feb. 9, 2018. Fifty Shades of Grey was a box-office success: it grossed more than $560 million at the global box office this year, and was the number one film worldwide for three consecutive weeks.

The first teaser for Fifty Shades Darker was released in April:
