This year, it sure seems like everything’s coming up Reese WitherspoonAs of late, the Oscar-winning actress has been picking up awards all over town.

Most recently, she received the 2016 Harpeth Hall/Ward-Belmont Distinguished Alumna Award on Thursday from the all-girls private college prep school she attended in Nashville, Tennessee.

The star of Legally Blonde doled out some helpful advice to those students looking how to best make their mark on the world.

The class of ’94 alumnus said:

The best advice I can give to anyone about the future is be curious. If you’re curious, you’ll never be bored. The world will open up to you over and over.

She went on to say, “I had to push myself to feel comfortable living in California where I knew no one. It’s important to be brave even when you are a high school student.”
