WATCH: Coldplay Performs ‘Imagine’ for Paris

'SNL' Pays Tribute to Paris Victims
There was no cold opening this weekend.

In wake of the attacks in Paris, Coldplay postponed a show in Los Angeles over the weekend and instead, delivered a powerful short set that included a cover John Lennon’s classic.

Chris Martin and his band mates were originally scheduled to do a Tidal & KROQ live stream of a concert supporting their latest album A Head Full of Dreams. Here’s part of the group’s announcement on their official website:

“All tickets will be valid for the rescheduled show, with details to follow soon. For those of you already down at the venue and those on your way, we’ll play a short set of old material so that your journey isn’t wasted.

We send our love and prayers to the people of Paris.”

In related news, pianist Davide Martello is also making headlines with his cover of “Imagine.” Martello drove some 400 miles with his grand piano to the street near the Bataclan theater, where 89 people were killed on Friday during the attacks.

“I can’t bring people back but I can inspire them with music and when people are inspired they can do anything,” Martello told The Guardian. “That’s why I played ‘Imagine.’”
