This Is How Khloé Kardashian Found Out About Caitlyn Jenner’s Transition

While the world learned of Caitlyn Jenner’s transition through endless headlines and eventually, a TV special and magazine cover, Khloé Kardashian’s experience was much more direct.

“Well I had a hard time because I found out on camera, like while we were filming and I felt like we kept asking him… ‘Bruce, what’s going on, we’re hearing all these rumors,’” Khloé says in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres airing Monday (Nov. 16).

“And he kept telling us one thing, but really he knew he was transitioning and wouldn’t be honest with us. So we felt like we were kind of the last to know so that was hard for us. Especially me. I defended him for so long or whatever. So that was hard for me and then now I’m fully ok with it.”

Khloé also says that a big part of Caitlyn’s transition was being able to separate Caitlyn from Bruce. According to the reality TV star and author, she’s mourned the “loss of Bruce” and is “fine with everything.”

“I’m sure he probably hoped maybe glimmers of Bruce would be there. But if your soul really wanted to be a female this whole time I can’t expect that. So now that we know that he’s, Caitlyn, and is not Bruce.”

Khloé, who’s been busy promoting her new book Strong Looks Better Naked, also opens up about how she turned the negative aspects of her life into positive outlooks and eventually, her inspiration for the book.

“I just felt like it was the right time,” she says. “And the crazy thing is as much as I went through everything that was dramatic and I feel like your scars make you better and tell a better story in life, but this book is very much what I’m living right now.”
