This is what it's like to date someone while your husband's in the hospital.

Apparently, Khloé Kardashian never actually wanted to divorce Lamar Odom in the first place.

The reality star, who is still legally married to the basketball player after withdrawing her divorce papers earlier this year, says she wasn’t really prepared to end her marriage in 2013 as she was only playing the “divorce card” in an attempt to motivate her husband into seeking treatment for his drug problem

Speaking with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the 31-year-old explains that she’s currently in a “weird” situation in that she wants to continue dating NBA star James Harden while still being able to make medical decisions for Odom, 36, after his hospitalization.

“James has been great. He’s been very supportive with everything. I’m sure there was, of course, times that he was uncomfortable with some of the things, but I’m a very honest person and I have nothing to hide,” she says. “I was very open with how I feel like I had to handle everything with Lamar, and I really, really appreciate how supportive James has been and it wasn’t another layer of stress on me. He’s been great and I’ve been open and honest.”

“I’ve never been in [this position] before, and I hope no one ever is in [that position],” she continues. “I’m really just trying to make everyone happy and comfortable at the same time.”

According to Kardashian, the real reason she initially filed for divorce was to help Odom sober up. After seeing that her husband still wasn’t preparing to go into rehab, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star says that was when she realized her marriage may be over for good.

She explains, “When I first filed for divorce it was one too many times of Lamar not following through with rehab or interventions and everyone kept saying to me, ‘You have to use the divorce card, and that’s what will get him to make a decision.’ So, I did that and when it didn’t work I went, ‘Okay, I don’t know if I don’t really want that divorce.”

“At first it was really hard for me to just let it go so I just kind of let it linger, hoping and still thinking — we would plan therapy appointments or just meetings,” she continues. “He would never follow through with them. And that broke my heart, but I was still hopeful for a long time.”

As previously reported, Kardashian asked a judge to dismiss her divorce papers this October after Odom was rushed to the hospital when he was found unresponsive at a Nevada brothel. Though the two are still married by law, Kardashian insisted that her relationship with Odom is currently “not anything sexual or intimate.”
