Safaree Samuels Might Be After Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pinkprint’ Money
He’s still not done.
Rapper Safaree Samuels is looking to cash in on profits from his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj’s three biggest albums including The Pinkprint, Pink Friday, and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded according to a report by TMZ. Samuels allegedly has evidence to prove that he was involved in the production of her music, harboring video of the pair working together in the studio and voice memos from recording sessions. The rapper also plans to target Minaj’s “Only” with Drake, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne and her collaborations with Beyoncé, including “Flawless (Remix)” and “Feeling Myself”.
Samuels claims that Minaj acknowledged his contribution by crediting him as an executive producer on her first two albums. TMZ reports that he has “already lawyered up” and that a lawsuit is “imminent”.
Samuels has been open in the press about his personal turmoil since he and Minaj called it quits in late 2014 after 12 years of dating, revealing to Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club that he had suicidal thoughts immediately following their split. Samuels then released two diss tracks against Minaj after she moved on to dating current boyfriend and noted Drake-disser Meek Mill. Minaj responded to his haterade with a public rant and a series of cryptic tweets, telling her ex, “Lesson: don’t cheat on a loyal woman” and “Enough with the pity party. Just live your life.”
