Have you heard of anything sexier?

There’s something quite Bond about Idris Elba’s December spread in Men’s Health that we can’t quite put our finger on just as much as we’d like to.

The rumored heir to Daniel Craig’s James Bond throne opens up to the wellness mag about his fitness regimen and how he defines masculinity.

Elba tells Men’s Health, “When I’m fit, I’m more focused … I have greater patience and my temper is more stable, so I’m better in almost all my relationships.”

“I’m more vigilant about the s— I put up with. I see clearer. When I’m out of shape, I’m emotionally lazy.”

The Beasts of No Nation star prefers kickboxing to marathon running, declaring that his ultimate fitness goal is to be “fight-ready”. “I want to know that if I’m being wrestled to the ground, I’ve got the strength to fight a man off,” he explains. “Kickboxing is rugged—it’s all core strength. But when you’re fight-ready, you feel like you can last forever.”

The hunk reveals that his spontaneity fuels his masculinity. “If I want to do something, I’ll do it—breakdancing at the end of a movie trailer, adding a verse on a rap song, racing rally cars. Why not?” he asks. “If that’s a man’s man, cool.”
