WATCH: Zayn Malik Takes Off His Shirt, Announces New Single ‘Befour’

Zayn x 'Interview' Magazine
And to no one's surprise, he's shirtless.

And some people are saying there’s a sprinkle of shade in that title…

The time has come for Zayn Malik to remind you that he has new music coming and it’s coming very soon. This week, the former One Direction member appears in his first major cover story in The FADER since leaving the boy band in March. There were a few false alarms and a non-feud with Naughty Boy. But this is not a drill. He’s well on his way and according to this pretty video accompanying the feature, he’s arriving via motorcycle. Without a shirt.

“I don’t feel like people really know what I’m going to give them, musically,” he tells the magazine. “And once they hear it, I feel like they will understand me a little bit more, and they’ll understand why I did what I did, and why I left the band, and why I had to write this shit down.”

According to the 22-year-old, it took him 10 years to write this album, which means he was already working on it during his 1D days.

Current and former Zayn fans left and right are freaking out because the song (believed to be his first single) used in the video is called “Befour.” Get it? Look closely at the spelling. Notice anything… shady? Maybe? (For the extra hard core Directioners, yes, today is also the one-year anniversary of the release of Four).

Make what you will of all of this. But more importantly, prepare your ears for new Zayn, above.
