Kim Kardashian’s Baby Is No Longer Breech
Well, that’s one less thing Kim Kardashian has to stress about.
The reality star, who recently revealed that her new baby is in a breech position, has undergone a procedure to manually to turn the baby to the right position for childbirth. Taking to her website, Kardashian, 35, opened up about the “soooooo painful” process.
“This weekend, I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called an ECV (External Cephalic Version, or a Version), which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position,” she writes. “They gave me an IV with medication to relax my uterus, and then three doctors attempted to work together to turn the baby. There was a risk that my water might break or the baby’s heart rate could drop—in which case, an emergency C-section would then take place. I went in with my sisters and my husband. I was prepared for it all!”
Though she didn’t end up resorting to an emergency cesarean section, Kardashian says it was still a harrowing — and painful — procedure to endure.
“They don’t give you any pain medication, and let me tell you: This was soooooo painful. Probably more painful than childbirth. BUT it worked!!!” she pens. “My baby is in the right position and it feels so good to not have the stress of thinking I need a C-section.”
The next thing she has to do before giving birth? Getting over a cold. According to Kardashian, she’s currently battling sinus infection while preparing to welcome her second child with Kanye West.
“I now have a cold and sinus infection, so I have to fight through this and get better,” she says. “I’m going to have North have a sleepover with her cousins for the next two days so I can really sleep and get better. She loves sleepovers and I really need this time to get better. I haven’t been able to sleep and just need to catch up.”
