Chris Brown Cancels Australian Tour, Is Quietly Booted from ‘Daily Show’ Appearance

Sorry, mate.

Chris Brown was forced to cancel his upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand after immigration authorities denied him of a visa. A statement released from his promoter claims that the singer remains “positive that the tour will take place in the near future”.

The Australian government threatened to box Brown out of the country back in September to penalize his domestic violence against ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Immigration Minister Michaelia Cash stated, “People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you, ‘You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia.’”

Brown was also replaced by Nick Cannon in his scheduled Daily Show appearance on Tuesday (Dec. 1, 2015) due to staffer’s disapproval of his booking. “Several Daily Show staffers told The Daily Beast that Brown’s interview booking has become a cause for concern around the office,” says the report. “But while many staffers disapprove of the booking decision, host Trevor Noah allegedly hopes to use the interview to bring light to domestic abuse issues.” Though Noah’s own mother was a victim of domestic violence, The Daily Show host conceded to staff requests.
