Adele joined Matt Lauer on The Today Show to speak on her latest album 25 and motherhood from a place of genuine zen. “I’ve never been happier, and I’ve never been healthier,” she tells Lauer. “So I’m good.”
The chart-breaking artist shows off the two tattoos on her hand, one reading her son’s name, Angelo, and the other reading “paradise”.
“One referring to the other?” asks Lauer.
“Yep, exactly,” she replies.
Adele describes her son as her “emotional place”, but reveals that the songs that she wrote about him were “boring for everyone else”.
“Everyone’s own child is like, the light of their lives, but not the light of anyone else’s.”
She deems “When We Were Young” as the song that can reduce her to tears fueled by the memories behind it. “Every time I sing that song I am reminded of something of something amazing in my life,” she tells Lauer.
