Michael Cavallari Found Dead Three Days After Reported Missing

Michael Cavallari, brother to reality star Kristin Cavallari, was found dead three days after he was reported missing.

Kristin shared in a statement to E! News on Thursday, Dec. 10,

“We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”

A spokesperson from the Utah Medical Examiner’s Office followed Cavallari’s outreach to E! News by confirming that a body was found and had been transported to the medical examiner’s office in Salt Lake City. Law enforcement officials told TMZ that his remains were located at 10:30 A.M. local time in a “steep and very rocky area”.

Michael’s 2014 Honda Civic was found abandoned on Nov. 27 on 1-70 in Utah according to a press release from the Grand County Sheriff’s Office. He was identified in convenience store security footage, confirming that he had been driving the aforementioned Honda Civic prior to his disappearance. E! News learned that Kristin’s brother had been arrested in California five days before he went missing.

The Laguna Beach star posted the following photo to Instagram on Monday (Dec. 7, 2015) with the caption, “I appreciate all the concern, thoughts, and prayers that have been extended to me and my family. We remain hopeful and I will share any news that we receive. I have such gratitude for all those that have shared their support.”

“My heart is in a million pieces. Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I’m at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP.”
