Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ Tour Is This Year’s Top-Selling Tour, But Not the Most Expensive
Thanks for the bargain, T-Swift.
Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour de BFFs outsold all other music acts on StubHub in 2015 based on new data released by the ticket website. Swift’s show is followed by those of Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, U2, and Ed Sheeran, with boyband wonders One Direction ringing in at number nine, just above The Rolling Stones. While her overall ticket sales may have come out on top, The Grateful Dead takes the cake for the most expensive bid with the average price of $360 per ticket to attend their “Fair Thee Well” tour. Swift’s average ticket price was $237.
Swift was named Billboard magazine’s Artist of the Year this week for a second time, after having been given the title back in 2009. Launch the gallery at the top of the page to view photos from her wildly popular 1989 tour.
