John Krasinski Shows Off His Sexy and Buff Beach Body in Men’s Health
The 36-year-old actor is on the cover of Men’s Health’s January/February issue, and no complaints here: he’s looking ripped and fine as fuh for his upcoming movie 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi:
On getting super jacked, he told the mag:
I think there’s a part of you where you become addicted to it. I love feeling strong. You pick up your daughter [22-month old daughter Hazel] with ease while everyone else makes a little grunt when they pick up their kids. I walk with better posture and a little more presence. I was more of a sit-in-the-corner guy. Now I’m a lot less of that.
Before beginning his intense four-month regimen (16 weeks is all it took?!), he explained he had one last hurrah while he and Emily Blunt were vacationing in Mexico over New Year’s. He explained,
There was a create-your-own quesadilla thing, and this guy just kept making us quesadillas. I thought, ‘This is it. This is my last night of freedom.’ So I went for it. I thought, ‘Oh, it’ll all turn into muscle.’ That’s where I didn’t really understand the science.
50 quesadillas later…
Then he began training with Jason Walsh, who helped him get from 26% down to 5% body fat by working out twice a day, five times a week. “To look like the guys you’d want to have saving you if you were in trouble. I gotta be honest: It was brutal at times. We did tons of metabolic work, dragging sleds and all this stuff I’ve seen NFL players do,” he commented.
He’s ultimately happy about it though. “Getting stronger every day is thrilling,” he said. “To be able to do 20 pull-ups.”
Krasinski also commented that Blunt is his “favorite thing to talk about.” And that, people, is why they’re the cutest couple in Hollywood.
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is set to be released Jan. 16, 2016.
