Lamar Odom Struggles to Walk on His Own, ‘Definitely Has Some Memory Loss’
Lamar Odom’s current health update reveals just how slow the former NBA star’s road to recovery will be.
According to a source close to the basketball player, who has been hospitalized ever since he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel in mid-October, “He’s not doing great.”
The source added to ET, “His speech is still slurred and he can barely walk on his own yet. He forgets a lot of people’s names – sometimes even his own. He definitely has some memory loss.”
Ex Khloé Kardashian, who is still legally his wife, and the family still visit him often. The source says, “They all pop in to see him [at Ceders-Sinai Medical Center], including Khloe.”
I know these hospital halls way too well. Hoping from one room to another.

Another source echoed the same sentiments to E! news, explaining, “He has not spoken in the halls during his therapy. It appears he can’t walk on his own. He has a walker that he does short walks with the aid of therapists.”
They also added, “He always is struggling. I saw the other day he got tired after a short session in the walker and had to be transferred back to his wheelchair.”
Khloé opened up to the Today show’s Natalie Morales a month ago, and revealed that “[Lamar] is learning how to walk again and learning cognitive therapy and speech therapy. They think, like, within a year and a half to two years that, mentally, he might be fully recovered. But they don’t know.” Unfortunately, that recovery will be slow-going.
