Leonardo DiCaprio Responds to ‘The Revenant’ Bear Rape Rumors

Leonardo DiCaprio Was Almost Eaten Alive by a Shark
His turmoil by sea did not end aboard the Titanic.

Leonardo DiCaprio set the record straight.

At the Los Angeles premiere of the upcoming film, The Revenant, on Wednesday (Dec. 16, 2015), the actor finally addressed those crazy bear rape rumors. “I have no idea where these ridiculous things come from, and what you do when you hear stuff like that,” he told E! News. “It’s absurd. It’s absurd.”

Rumors began after Matt Drudge published an article headlined “Leonardo DiCaprio Raped by Bear in Fox Movie” in early December. However, soon after the Drudge article began to circulate, a spokesperson from 20th Century Fox denied such a thing occurred.

DiCaprio did confirm that he ate (and didn’t like) raw bison liver, though.

It’s something that I won’t repeat, that’s for sure. We submerged ourselves in the elements for this film. We really wanted to create something incredibly authentic so these types of adventures lend themselves to taking chances like that. You want to be as authentic as you possibly can with every decision that you make and that resulting in me biting into something that was pretty disgusting and my real reaction is on film and up there onscreen.

Meanwhile, he and co-star Tom Hardy cleaned up pretty well at the movie’s premiere. The two looked like dapper BFFs posing in classic suits rocking great facial hair.
