Scott Weiland's ex-wife speaks out following the singer's death.

Scott Weiland’s cause of death has been revealed.

The late singer passed away from an accidental overdose, according to officials. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in Minnesota ruled on Friday (Dec. 14, 2015) that a mix of cocaine, alcohol, and a substance similar to ecstasy called MDA caused the former Stone Temple Pilots frontman’s body to shut down.

Weiland was also said to have a history of cardiovascular disease, asthma, and multi-substance dependence as “significant conditions” at the time of his death.

Weiland’s passing occurred on Dec. 3 during his tour with his band, The Wildabouts, in Bloomington, Minn.
