Truck Driver Involved in Tracy Morgan’s Car Crash Charged with Manslaughter

The Walmart truck driver who slammed into Tracy Morgan’s limo is being charged with multiple counts. 

Kevin Roper was driving on the New Jersey Turnpike in June 2014 when he crashed into the vehicle carrying the the comedian and his friends, causing a pileup that seriously injured him and killed his friend, James McNair. On Wednesday (Dec. 23, 2015), Roper was charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter, second-degree vehicular homicide, and eight counts of third-degree aggravated assault.

The 30 Rock alum was left with broken ribs, a broken leg, a broken nose, and severe head trauma after the accident. After over a year of rehabilitation, Morgan returned to the public spotlight this fall when he presented at the Emmys. He also recently hosted Saturday Night Live and is currently preparing to embark on a comedy tour.
