Instant Follow Friday: Adele Is the Gift That Keeps on Giving
In honor of this week’s holiday edition of Instant Follow Friday, we’re celebrating with the Queen of Pop herself, Adele, who epitomizes the word “success” and blew away the rest of the competition at the very last minute when her long-awaited third album, 25, came out on Nov. 20 and both her European and North American tour sold out in minutes earlier this month.
If you were one of the unlucky suckers unable to get Adele tickets online, don’t fret too much because you weren’t alone. Her tour sold out in mere minutes, and Ticketmaster’s CEO even was prompted to send a note out to employees congratulating them on their hard work on D-Day (i.e. Dec. 17, when tickets for her North American tour went on sale) in light of website slowness and crashing. He noted that while there were only 750,000 available seats for the North American tour, which kicks off July 5 in St. Paul, Minn., there were a record number 10 million+ fans vying to buy tickets in the virtual line.
Damn, Adele. Just another record she’s broken in the past couple of weeks.
Celebrate the holidays with the gift that keeps on giving, Adele’s Instagram, and hopefully you have 25 on vinyl wrapped up underneath the tree.
