Benedict Cumberbatch Transformed into Doctor Strange Will Cast a Spell on You
The Doctor is in.
Benedict Cumberbatch is all about good ol’ experimentation when it comes to building the character for his upcoming film, Doctor Strange, co-starring Tilda Swinton and Rachel McAdams. He’s publicly transformed into Doctor Stephen Strange for the very first time on the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s First Look issue. His character is a self-centered surgeon turned world-protecting sorcerer that has a knack for casting spells.
“I’m still in the infancy of learning all that,” Cumberbatch tells EW of his spell-casting abilities. “We haven’t played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It’s like anything, you just have to experiment.”
Though the film comes out in November of 2016, the Sherlock actor promises that it will offer trippy visual effects. “There’s going to be crazy s**t going on,” says Cumberbatch.
