Doctors are optimistic about the future of Rob Kardashian’s health if he is willing to make a change.

Kim Kardashian’s brother was rushed to the hospital after feeling sick over the weekend, and was diagnosed with diabetes according to a report from TMZ on Tuesday, Dec. 29. New details from the tabloid reveal that his official diagnosis is diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when the body produces high levels of blood acids (ketones). Sources claim that the condition could have lead to a diabetic coma had he continued to live without receiving treatment.

TMZ claims that Rob’s doctors believe that he can turn his life around if he continues to eat well and live a “healthy lifestyle”. If he commits to a lifestyle reversal, he could control his type 2 diabetes and potentially send it into remission. Rob has allegedly returned home and is resting amid the arrival of a new year.

Sources tell People that Kris Jenner returned from her St. Barts vacation with Corey Gamble following Rob’s hospitalization. Meanwhile, Khloé Kardashian posted a melancholy selfie in the wake of her brother’s diagnosis. She has been a supporter of her brother’s wellbeing, sending him messages of encouragement on Instagram:
