Celebuzz Cocktail Hour: The Official Cocktail of the Golden Globes by Moët
Drink like the stars while watching the Golden Globes.
This Sunday (Jan. 10, 2016), Hollywood’s hottest will celebrate the start of awards season at the Golden Globes, while sipping on the Moët Ruby Red in the VIP lounge.
Created by celebrated Los Angeles mixologist Karen Grill, the woman behind the recently revamped cocktail program at 1933 Group’s Sassafras in Hollywood, the official cocktail of the Golden Globes is her take on the classic French 75 cocktail and a personal homage to cinema classic Wizard of Oz.
Grill says of the cocktail, “The Moet Ruby Red is my take on the classic French 75 cocktail and is an homage to classic cinema the epitomizes Hollywood glamour. The champagne and vodka-based concoction’s raspberry, citrus and tarragon shrub give both a tart kick and the ruby red coloring – a nod to Garland’s famous ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz. Garnished with tarragon, for the color of the Emerald City and a long lemon twist for the Yellow Brick Road, this cocktail is luxurious and bright, like the stars who will walk the Golden Globes red carpet.”
Moët Ruby Red by Karen Grill – Recipe
3/4oz Tarragon, Raspberry, Citrus Shrub
2.5oz Moët & Chandon Brut
Served over ice in a white wine glass
Garnished with fresh tarragon and citrus
To make the Shrub:
2 cups raspberry purée
2 cups apple cider vinegar
4 cups cane sugar
1 lemon peel
4 sprigs of tarragon

This year, Moët & Chandon also debuted a custom Golden Globes Mini Moët Champagne Caddy equipped with the same minis that stars– including Chrissy Teigen, Naomi Watts, Amber Heard, Heidi Klum, Chris Pratt, and Aziz Ansari–have all infamously indulged in while gliding the carpet.
