What Does Taylor Kinney's Mom Think About Lady Gaga?
Let's let the mother-in-law weigh in on Mother Monster.

Lady Gaga is finally making good on the implied promise of her lyric, “Do you want to see me naked, lover?”

As previously reported, Gaga is guest-editing V Magazine’s 99th issue, and she is doing so with her trademark blend of #artpop and excess: the issue will have 16 total covers, the most for any single issue of a magazine. The 15th, just released, features Gaga and her fiancé, Taylor Kinney, naked. It was presumably taken directly after a steamy love-making session, per Gaga’s Twitter caption:

All proceeds from the sales of the edition #V99 with this cover will go to Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation. This means that should you decide to purchase a magazine with naked people on the cover, you will be, perhaps for the first time in this particular scenario, supporting a good cause. Gaga is known for being charitable, of course, though she has certainly outdone herself, spectacle-wise, with this one.

In an editor’s note accompanying the issue, Gaga writes about the inspiration behind the making-love-on-a-canvas-and-getting-paint-all-over-our-naked-bodies project. Read below (via V Magazine and Gaga Daily):

“Since we first met, Taylor’s been drawing and painting all over me. Years ago, when we were secretly living in San Diego and crashing on the floor of a beach shack, we never wore shoes. He told me he wanted to make love to me on a canvas. I asked Taylor to collaborate with me on a project to raise money and awareness about mental illness, and he immediately brought my attention back to this idea. We made love on the canvas on a Sunday in Chicago. We made love amidst chaos. We talked about shootings. We made love amidst terrorism. And we talked about how people’s hearts are also suffering all over the world as they watch and witness a swell of violence. We made love amidst violence. During tumultuous times, we hope everyone in the world will see this and be reminded to love each other wildly, generously, totally, colorfully, without fear and with compassionate hearts. We made a galaxy of endless colors with only brief, black holes of emptiness that are then filled by each other.”

So very, very #ARTPOP.

In other news, Billboard announced yesterday (Jan. 7, 2016) that Gaga will present at the 2016 Golden Globes ceremony this Sunday. Gaga is herself nominated in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role as The Countess on American Horror Story: Hotel.
