2016 Golden Globes: Jennifer Lawrence Scolds Reporter After Getting Friendly with Ex Nicholas Hoult

Was is funny, or just plain rude?

Jennifer Lawrence is coming under fire after she seemingly scolded a reported in the press room after the Golden Globes Sunday (Jan. 10, 2016) night. After winning a Globe for her performance in Joy, Lawrence headed to the press room to answer questions from reporters but couldn’t help but chastise one reporter who was on his phone.

The reporter, who is not shown but can be heard struggling to speak English, begins to ask Lawrence a question, but he is quickly interrupted by the actress who tells him while wagging her finger, “You can’t live your whole life behind your phone, bro.”

Everyone in the room laughs, including the reporter who apologizes, before beginning his line of questioning again. This time, he mentions the Oscars, which prompts Lawrence to cut him off again saying, “We’re at the Golden Globes. If you put your phone down you would know that.”

While Lawrence is famous for her press room antics, some fans seemed to think she took this one too far. Even though it’s not unheard of to ask a reporter to get off of their phone and be engaged in the interview, it seemed clear in this case the reporter was reading the questions off his phone as English probably isn’t his first language.

But that wasn’t the only J.Law moment that raised a few eyebrows. During commercial breaks, Lawrence was spotted chatting with her ex Nicholas Hoult. E! correspondent Marc Malkin shared the friendly moment on Instagram for the whole world to see.

It looks like the two were just catching up, but considering both are 100% single, could a possible reconciliation be in the works? Only time will tell…
